Public Information Online is an web-based archive of searchable Parliamentary and Official documents, enabling users to view many Parliamentary publications in one place as PDFs. It includes publications from the Westminster Parliament, Scottish Parliament, Northern Ireland Assembly, Welsh Parliament (Senedd) and Scottish Government, as well as key non-parliamentary papers.

Trial access to Public Information Online is available until 2 December 2022.

For Law Faculty members a particularly useful feature is the opportunity to do extensive Hansard (Pepper v Hart) research into Parliamentary Debates online. Although there are several other databases that include House of Commons and House of Lords Hansard, only Public Information Online includes the Standing Committee debates from 1919-2005/6, thereby filling a gap in the online provision for University members. From 1997 Public Bill Committee debates are freely available on the internet: an archive is available for debates from 1997-2015/16 and the latest Public Bill Committee debates are included within the main Commons Hansard.

Cambridge University Libraries are gathering feedback on this trial. If you have made use of Public Information Online, and if you would have a use for it in the future, please complete the e-resources evaluation form. For further details please contact the Squire Law Library team: squire@law.cam.ac.uk.
