Mr RWM DiasThe Squire is saddened by the death yesterday of Mr RWM (Mickey) Dias QC (Hon.), formerly University Lecturer in Law and director of studies in law at Magdalene College.

Mr Dias read law at Trinity Hall, the third generation of his family to do so, followed by war service in the RAF. His academic interests were in Roman law, jurisprudence, and the law of tort. He was general editor of Clerk and Lindsell on Tort, and the author of a textbook on jurisprudence. His Magdalene pupils include Lord Judge, Lord Chief Justice, Sir Andrew Morritt, Chancellor of the High Court, and HE Judge Sir Christopher Greenwood of the International Court of Justice.

Mr Dias was featured recently in the Eminent Scholars Archive where a biography, bibliography, photograph gallery and interviews can be found.
