Professor J.A. JolowiczThe Squire Law Library and the Faculty of Law are pleased to announce that an important entry for Professor J. A. (Tony) Jolowicz has just been added to the Eminent Scholars Archive.

Professor Jolowicz, who retired from his chair of Comparative Law in 1993, has been associated with the Faculty and Trinity College for over sixty years, while his memory of various legal scholars that he met as a boy through his father’s academic career at University College London and Oxford University extends to the pre-War era. Professor Jolowicz gained an enviable reputation for his writings in English and comparative civil procedure, and his reminiscences are a further valuable contribution to the Cambridge Law Faculty Eminent Scholars Archive.

The Archive is an expanding resource in which we document the careers and achievements of eminent scholars associated with the Squire Law Library and Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge. It contains extensive bibliographies, biographies, photographs and interviews with some of the world's most renowned academic and practising lawyers.

Other eminent scholars already featured are: Professor Kurt Lipstein, Professor Peter Stein, Professor Sir Derek Bowett, Mr R.W.M. Dias, Professor Sir Eli Lauterpacht, Professor Sir Bob Hepple and ICJ Judge Stephen Schwebel, as well as shorter interviews with incumbent Goodhart Professors (Martti Koskenniemi, and pending, Sir Robin Auld).
