Professor Spyridon FlogaitisThe Squire Law Library and the Faculty of Law are pleased to announce that the entry for Professor Flogaitis, has just been added to the Eminent Scholars Archive.

Professor Flogaitis has been the Arthur Goodhart Visiting Professor of Legal Science for the Lent and Easter terms of 2013. He is currently Professor of Administrative Law, and Director of the European Public Law Organization at the University of Athens.

Professor Flogaitis was interviewed on 24th July 2013 in the Squire Law Library. He speaks of his teaching and research work during the current visiting professorship, and of his fond memories of an earlier stay in the Faculty (1982/3), when he collaborated with professors David Williams, Bill Wade and Tony Jolowicz. Professor Flogaitis also gives a fascinating account of his family history and how it is interwoven with the history of the modern Greek state. He also provides a thought provoking assessment of the current political and economic situation in Greece. With mentions of his work in the EU and UN, and recent, brief periods as a minister in the Greek government, this is an interview of topical interest.

It is the sixth in a growing collection of interviews with incumbents of the Goodhart Professorship, previous interviewees being Professor Martti Koskenniemi, Sir Robin Auld, Justice Paul Finn, Professor Jane Stapleton, and Professor Peter Cane.
